| Lisa Eack, of Adrian, previously worked with Holy Cross Children’s Services at their Boysville Campus and is an Upper Peninsula native. She has two young boys ages 2 and 6 months. |
Heather Perez, of Raisin Township, previously served as a Parent Representative on the LGSC Board and has worked as a substitute teacher in Lenawee schools. She has a son, age 8, and a daughter, age 6. |
INVESTING IN EARLY CHILDHOOD
State spending on school readiness has saved taxpayers $1.15 billion over a 25 year period according to a Wilder Reserach study prepared for Michigan's Early Childhood Investment Corporation.The economic benefits of adequately preparing low-income children for the start of school. Investments in early childhood programs for young children not only return taxpayers' initial investment, but pay additional dividends over time in reduced welfare, criminal justice, special and remedial education and other costs.
